As salaamu alaykum warahmatullaahi wabarakaatuh. How have we all been? In Shaa Allaah today we would be talking about the importance of Dua.

Dua Means Suplication. It is a way to keep in touch with Allah and thanks to Dua, we are getting closer to our Lord. It is an important part of our faith and belief. We ask Allah Almighty for whatever we want in our life, no matter how big it is.

Dua is a form of prayer and it could be done anytime and any where – there is no fixed time and place to do Dua. It is considered a weapon by which we can change our situation by asking the help of Almighty Allah. Dua is essentially a submission to the Creator and a demonstration of a person’s need for Allah.

Allah Almighty says in the Holy Qur’an: “When my servants ask you about me, (tell them), I am really close to them, I listen to the prayer of each supplicant when he invokes me.” (Quran , 2: 186).

So, with this verse, we can say that Allah the Almighty is listening to us when we do Dua. We should always seek help from Allah.

Our beloved Prophet (Sallallahu Alahyi Wa Sallam ) said, “The most excellent worship is Dua.” (Sahih Al-Jami).
Also the Prophet (Sallallahu Alahyi Wa Sallam ) said: “A slave becomes the closest to his Lord when he is prostrate, so increase supplications in prostrations.” (Sahih Muslim).

Dua is the belief of all Muslims that Allah is the creator of all things on earth. Thus, through Dua, we also thank ALLAH for all that He has given us, be it our heart rate, our breath, our health or our wealth, all these things are provided by ALLAH. Allah listens to each Dua done in front of HIM and responds to all Duas.

We raise our hands before Allah and ask for all His help, mercy and forgiveness. He listens to us and fulfills our desires. When making the Dua, it is acceptable to ask for good in this mundane life and the afterlife. Throughout the Qur’an, Our Lord encourages believers to invoke Him, He asks us to place our dreams, hopes, fears and uncertainties before Him and to be sure that He hears every word.

We should do Dua at all times, not just during times of distress. “Whoever desires that Allah respond to his Duas under adverse and difficult conditions, he should make Dua abundant in the days of ease and comfort.”

We should do Dua not only for ourselves but also for our parents, brothers and sisters, spouses and children, relatives and friends, especially Muslims who are struggling everywhere and for our beloved country. So we should know the Value and Importance of Dua in Islam .We should pray for them for good in this world as well as in the hereafter.

The Prophet ( Sallallahu Alahyi Wa Sallam )said: “The Dua of a Muslim for his brother (in Islam) in his absence is easily accepted, an angel is appointed by his side, every time he makes a beneficial Dua for his brother. the appointed angel says: ‘Ameen, and may you also be blessed with the same thing.’ “(Sahih Muslim)

May Allah accept all our Duas Aameen
